I don’t know Abraham Ghebreghiogis (MIT) whose photo I am looking at the website – and with his beautiful family members. I have never seen him. But I knew about him very well because of his nickname: MIT! What a unique nickname, I said to myself the first time I heard it. And it stuck in my mind. Going through the eulogy, one cannot help but be impressed by his amazing educational success. I used to hear about Abraham Ghebreghiorgis (MIT) from people in conversations with admiration and fondness. When I saw his photograph I gazed at it for a good period of minutes. It is said photographs portray a lot. Looking at Abraham Ghebreghiorgis(MIT)'s photo is just like knowing a person for a long time. May his soul rest in peace and my heartfelt condolence goes to his Family: his wife Mrs Azezet Abraha and children Andom, Semere, ...and Zied.

It is obvious, Abraham Ghebreghiorgis(MIT) was one of countless Eritreans who had a DREAM, a sincere vision of a liberated “Eritrea” with all the qualities of Life for the eternal benefit of the Eritrean people. Sadly, the world can be cruel and cockeyed. The touching eulogy expressed it thus:
“...when policy views between the EPLF leadership and EFLNA/ ኤናሰኣ organization differed … [and]…after the break-up of the EFLNA/ ኤናሰኣ, Abraham returned to his private life and earned a Master’s Degree from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University”. And Eritrea lost!

One can easily visualize the dejected spirit of a young man whose love, unreserved loyalty and dream for his country was dashed, even though he had all the tools required to uplift his beloved birth place and people. Instead, Abraham Ghebreghiogis(MIT) had to reconcile with the inherent cruel reality and spend the rest of his short Life working for a private business company in his adopted country, the United States of America. What a loss to Eritrea -- after the loss to his dear extended Family.
