July 3, 2010 (MEKELLE, Ethiopia) – Eritrean Nationalities that represent the majority of Eritrean ethnicity vow to join hands together in the efforts to step up struggle to oust Asmara regime.

The Democratic Front of Eritrean Nationalities (DFEN) has hold Eritrean nationalities conference in the Ethiopia’s northern town of Mekelle, where representatives of some five ethnic groups, civic societies, religious leaders, refugees and front allies took part.

During their 3-day conference this week, Eritrean nations and nationalities reach an agreement to intensify their struggle to ensure their democratic rights.

"Eritrean nations and nationalities have decided to collectively take an arms struggle in a united form to secure the abandoned rights of self determination up to secession" Mohamed Mear, Red Sea Afar Democratic Organization(RSADO) foreign affairs head told Sudan Tribune.

"The latest move is the only way to topple an oppressive and tyrannical regime so justice and peace among the Eritrean nations and nationalities is ensured" Mohamed underscored.

Participants condemned President Issayas Afeworki-led Eritrea’s only party PFDJ of undermining the demands of its own people and ruining the nation.

"The atrocities on daily bases happening against Eritrean nationalities t is intolerable," they said in a statement adding "now is the time we all act in united form to rebuild a democratic new Eritrea."

The Red Sea Afar Democratic Organization (RSADO) and the Democratic Movement for the Liberation of Eritrean Kunama (DMLEK) last year created the Democratic Front of Eritrean Nationalities (DFEN).

The front, currently embraces political organizations from Afar, Kunama and Saho ethnic groups. Two other, the Nara and Blen ethnic organizations are expected to join the front in a near future.

“The main aspiration of these peacemakers is restoring genuine justice and peace where all Eritrean nations and nationalities might exercise their democratic and basic human rights.” Nara National organization said in support to the Mission.

The Democratic Front of Eritrean Nationalities (DFEN) would hold Eritrean nationalities conference on 7, July 2010 to deliberate on an action plan.

According to Nessredin Ahmed, another RSADO official, the planned ethnic based movement will participate Eritrean refuges currently residing in Ethiopia and Sudan.

Currently there are some 50,000 Eritreans that took refugee in Ethiopian Camps; A lot more, an estimated 350,000 Eritreans are also being sheltered in neighboring Sudan.

Nassredin called on all peace-loving Eritreans at home and outside, all concerned groups, other Eritrean ethnic groups and the international community as a whole to shoulder the movement.

Last month, some Eight Eritrean opposition forces created a joint military front to launch a massive and well coordinated military attack against Eritrean government.

Such useless ethinic polotic orentiated millitary alliance definatly will help to prolong the age
of the suppress evil regime, but not either to solve or give an end of the people and the nation´s
problems. This is a real continution of hidden polotical agenda which is aimed to destroy the left
country´s economy and to discourage the people, not to enjoy with the independence. Both the rulling
party and these idiots alliace have one aim . That is by giving hard and discouraging people they
need to hyjack the independence, and inforce the people to reunite with Ethiopia again .These so-
called military alliance they can´t even illiminate one single dictator, but they like to open civil
war and to fight with the whole army. What a loosers. I am sure this theme will be Isayas´s next
reason to stay in power and collect money from the poors.Border issue, can not deserve him longly.

Tezareb & Tshafi Tazaz,

Both of you are clueless, Meles does not want to see Axumite Kingdom, Savage killer Sebhat Nega is very nationalist Tigrigna speaking people in general but he is old now and does not have such power to recreate anything at his age.

Axume-Adwa the capital is like the head quarter of African Union (AU) in Asmara. Axume-Adwa do not have the infrastructure and water resources to support the present populations let alone as capital city of millions and industries in the future. Mekele is the capital city of Tigray and will remain as such except there is water shortages. Actually Tembien Abi Adi could be as alternative sicne it has water to support growing populations but Mekele is already built at huge cost and will not change unless Tigray discovers Oil.

I would not have said it better than what Tshafi Tazaz wrote below :
"Meles and aboi sibhat are trying to recreate the old Axumite empire with most of its coast line and its satellite tax paying rich regions (south and central Ethiopia) with its political "capital" in Axum-Adwa.
Time and momentum is on PM mz's side, plus mz is very lucky to have Isaias as an opponent because Isaias is his own worst enemy. Isaias has done a lot of favour for Meles by weakening Eritrea. The only thing mz needs is to wait patiently like a Rawya until his prey -- Eritrea -- falls down beyond repair. mz is not responsible for the destruction of Eritrea; it is Isaias and his hgdef supporters."

Amazed:
may be that is only playing in your head that Eritreans are in rethinking about secession.and by the way despite the odds we'r facing either self inflicted or by out siders we love independence than every thing else even than handouts.in some points i agree with you that some so-called HIGDEF supporters are trying to manipulate things and to eject true Dekihager from the boot and destroy the reputation of our country from inside out.some of the self proclaimed HIGDEF supporters that i know are # 1 enemy of Essayas and the country and the people.these are the real danger.and concerns the opposition ,they are worthless Aletawian, even they have not yet figured out what Eritreans want,it is a wonder ,isn't it?if they know some thing that the puplic do not know they should tell us. other wise they should stop with the none sense talks.

#49 Amazed, I love your comment! Is it just me or it is just an Eritrean thing to forget things so quickly in a short span of time. i have never seen a society with such a history full of memory lose. I remember back in early 90 when every eritrean danced to the tune of secession forgetting the fact that their ancestors once begged for reunion with ethiopia and worshiped haileselase on his way to Eritrea. now unity is the song of the day...as you rightly said, let's enjoy the ever changing Eritrean tune..stay tuned ( i wish they know what I know about what's being cooked for them but i don't want to spoil the annual independence party, cos i enjoy watching eritreans being fooled by shabian party organizers)

The EPLF/PFDJ solves its problems by killing and disappearing. Its supporter think as far as their interests are not affected what happens to others is inconsequential . This attitude of indifference has created a situation of mistrust.
The marginalized groups having being crying for long time for help, but no body seem to be interested to look into their grievances. Now, they want depend on themselves, and talk to the brutal regime in the only language that it understands. We all expect this to be highly damaging, but the blame goes to all who choose to look somewhere else when they were calling for help.

Are you distressed about thae Meqele seminar on ER biherat?
Yay, I wish you have chosen a better word for the word
''distressed'' you used. But regardless of what you said, I am CONCERNED for I don't trust the people who are behind the conference. All ethnic groups should have their rights respected by the constitution as civilized societies do, and not by the gun. What they tell you about their conference is different from what is being brewed from behind the doors.
I don't trust the sponsors of the conference. Eritrean ethnic groups will have their rights respected, when the nation will be ruled by democratic rules and laws.

Meles just needs to wait patiently until his prey with all its ports - eritrea - falls right on his hands.
issaias have already done all the job to kill the entity Eritrea. With or without Issaias Eritrea is dead, hgdefists and Kidan killed it.
Do not cry for Eritrea, let the hgdefists cry for her.

WHAT SHOULD BE DONE TO DEAL WITH COLLECTIVE BLINDNESS AND COLLECTIVE MADNESS ?
Recognizing what is being revealed by the collective madness and blindness in our society, and allow the rebirth of healthy collective consciousness. By:
1. All we have to do to see is open our eyes and look.
2. We need '' open public discourse" to deal with such differing interpretations of faith and ethnicity, rather than allowing them to fan the flames of conflict.
CIVIC SOCIETIES , FAITH LEADERS and ELDERS SHOULD TAKE THE LEAD IN CONDUCTING THE PROCESS OF HEALING and HAVING PEACE to save the nation from being destroyed. GET ORGANIZED. GOD PROTECT ERITREA.

Why are some Eritreans so against secession? Secession is the invention of Eritreans in the horn. You loved and praised secession for more than 30 years. It was your God, whom you worshiped for 3 decades. Now this curse is coming to your turf and hunting you, you suddenly are no more for secession? What happened? We in Ethiopia sit back and enjoy as your home start to burn by the fire you started.

Enjoy the show :-)

Dear Shalom Eritrea: Every Eritrean Should Support ER's Biherat for Equality
Are you distressed about thae Meqele seminar on ER biherat? I have yet to study their platforms more but they seem to be, first and foremost, Eritreans(i.e. Eritrean Aafar, Eritrean Kunama, Eritrean Saho, etc.). And they seem to want to create coalitions and multi-biherat entities so that, in their views, the ER state be a democratic republic. If that is the case, ER is not going to be disintegrated. Some of them still stress "upto and including secession". Generally speaking, self-determination is the right of every political community and 99.8% of all Eritreans want one united independent ER, but in ER's case, the biherat don't have their own democratic political bodies, so may be this is a process towards that end. Two concerns: are they controlled by foreign forces? Fighting for a right through violence creates instability for years to come.

Imagine, it would seem completely incomprehensibl e why people, who were interconnected parts of a greater whole and were truly “one,” were trying to destroy each other. It would appear as if they were suffering from a very peculiar form of psychic AIDS. an auto-immune disease . HGDF and Oppostions are not only destroying each other, but are self-destructively taking down Eritrea, upon which we all depend for our very survival. Ask yourself, '' who benefits from the destruction of Eritrea and its people ?'' We the people or HGDF and WEYANE and its stooges ?
( more to come)

'' We are a species gone mad. Why don't we see the collective psychosis we are in? We are like fish who don't see the water they are swimming in because the water is everywhere, both within the fish and the fish within it. '' Why don't we see our collective madness '' by Paul Levy
Three questions to all concerned and those who are supporting the movements and evil acts of the demigods of current political situation of Eritrea :
1. WHY DON'T WE SEE OUR COLLECTIVE MADNESS ?
2. WHY DON'T WE SEE OUR COLLECTIVE BLINDNESS ?
3. WHY ARE OUR WEAKNESSES BEING EXPLOITED BY HGDF and THE WEYANE ?

Is anyone really surprised? We have Isaias who had the trust of the people, who practically had the backing of all Eritreans. But as an idiot he is, he has destroyed the trust he had and made his people the enemy, to the degree that hes afraid to live in the Capital but hiding Bastée(massawa) .

Soon all Eritrean nationalist must choose and make a very hard decision. Either choose Isaias Afeworki and watch Eritrea go down the drain or choose Eritrean unity. Isaias has become the biggest threat to Eritreas survival.

Dear Zebib: Give Who Freedom and Independence?
What I am saying is that the Eritrean Aafars were asked to determine their destiny in the 1993 referendum. They determined that it is best that an independent ER state be established, and that process is still going. Those Eritrean Aafars who may demand secession have the right to do so but their demand doesn't match that of the majority. ET regimes, like you, often appear concerned for the freedom of the EritAafars more than other Eritreans. The reason is ETs want to take parts of ER territory through seemingly demanding freedom for EritAafars. It is a strategy.Let us perfect the equality and the union of each other. PFDJ's "tyranny" is conditional (not natural or permanent), it is only a continuation of the ET-ER border war.Work with us (not with our enemies)we will work with you. Try peaceful means first. Let us talk on the maximum freedoms each of us could enjoy within a democratic ER republic.
