Teklebrhan Ghebresadick (Wedi Bashai) is a political prisoner in Eritrea without due process of law for over two decades. Wedi Bashai together with his colleague Woldemariam Bahlibi, both ELF-RC Executive Committee members were kidnapped by the Eritrean government from Kessela, the Sudan, on 26 April 1992 and taken to Eritrea. Both gentlemen were invited for Easter Day by a close relative of both and taken from that house by government security squad. After 22 years, there is no official news about their whereabouts to this day. source from Freweini Ghebresadick's facebook date view 10/01/15

Veteran freedom fighter Teklebrhan Ghebresadick (Wedi Bashai) joined the Eritrean Liberation Front (ELF) in 1974. After months of military and organizational training, he was dispatched to the 963 company, led by Asmelash Goytom, stationed in Hamasien region, in the surroundings of Asmara. Wedi Bashai was serving in the capacity of security of this company. Following the formation of battalions in the ELF, Wedi Bashai was further serving as the security of a battalion its number escapes me now. This battalion was led by Ali Hassan and its political commissioner was Berhane Haile. In the following years and the formation of Brigades, Wedi Bashai became military intelligence (استخبارات عسكري) of Brigade 19, and he later became political commissioner of that brigade. As testified by many of his colleagues including me, he was caring and inspirational to his peers.
When in 1982 the ELF was divided into 3 factions, Wedi Bashi remained with the mainstream, that later became known as the “Eritrean Liberation Front - Revolutionary Council (ELF-RC)”, and was among those military personnel who went back to Eritrea (battlefield). He led one of the companies of the front that moved from Tahdai Korokon reestablishing itself in Gash Barka and became known as (ELF-RC).
Despite the hostilities and attacks waged against it from other fronts, ELF-RC was able to rebuild itself into a formidable front. At the conference of 1984 when ELF-RC decided to continue the armed struggle, Wedi Bashai was elected to the Political leadership and he became deputy chief of the military office led by Abdela Hassan.
In the 3rd congress of 1989 of ELF-RC, Wedi Bashai was elected to the executive committee of the front, and was heading the security office. Wedi Bashai served in this capacity until 1992.
Veteran freedom fighter, Wedi Basha as a person, was persuasive, challenging, reliable and truthful and at the same time playful and humble. Above all though, he is known as a person who does not hold grudges and a person who leads you forward instead. Including for these reasons, Wedi Bashai was well liked and respected by both his supporters and opponents. His comrades praise him not only for his diligence, but also for his farsightedness and the depth of his political insight.
On 26 April, 1992, Wedi Bashai and longtime friend and comrade Woldemariam Bahlibi were kidnapped by EPLF security squad in cooperation with the government of Sudan and taken from Kassala, Sudan to Asmara. Mr. Tesfatsion Ghebreyesus, a close relative of both Wedi Bashi and Woldemariam invited them to his house for Easter, and it is from that house they were kidnapped. The premeditated kidnapping was a combined action of the Eritrean security, the Sudanese security of Kassala, and the inviter, Mr. Tesfatsion Ghebreyesus.
Veteran freedom fighter Woldemariam Bahlbi joined the struggle for independence with ELF in the beginning of 1975. Subsequent to his military training, Woldemariam was stationed in the surroundings of Auhne and Adi Kanta in Akele Guzai region as a platoon security officer. In 1977 after his company moved to Gash and became part of the 676 battalion, led by Romodan Mussa, Woldemariam then became the security officer of the first Company. His battalion played a role in freeing Teseney on 07 July 1977 by defeating the Ethiopian army stationed there.
In 1989 in the 3rd congress of ELF-RC, Woldemariam was also elected to the Executive Committee and head of the military office and served in these capacities until 1992. Woldemariam as person was very deep, calm, and friendly source Habtom Yohanese's facebook view 11-01-15
