After the three days battle Halhal the second division, suffered high casualities, afterward the Ethiopian army brought their dead bodies from Halhal battle field into Keren and their unburied were left on the street for a day, and then hung up in the city centre (see picture ) afterthen they buried them in Islamic cemeteries in order to convince people that the Eritrean nationalist struggle was led by Islamist influence.
