Police find mother, infant dead in apartment; police suspect man found hanged was woman's husband, killed the two, then himself.

 
An Eritrean national murdered his wife and young daughter in their apartment in Ashkelon and hanged himself in a forest on Thursday, police suspect.

Police were called to the forest outside Ashkelon on Wednesday morning and found the body of a man who committed suicide.

They launched an intensive investigation, tracked down the man's brother, who in turn led them to an apartment on Thursday evening, where the bodies were found.

Police have described the incident as a suspected double homicide and a suicide.

A police spokeswoman told The Jerusalem Post that a cell phone was found in the pocket of the man who committed suicide. It was used to track down his brother in Jerusalem, who led officers to the home containing the bodies of the man's wife and baby boy. According to initial police suspicions, the two were stabbed to death.

Last Friday, two men, brothers and residents of the village of Salem near Umm-el-Fahm, were shot dead in a double murder when their car was fired upon at an intersection in the Sharon.

The men, both in their 30s, were returning from a party in honor of their sister's recent wedding. One man's wife, who is seven months pregnant, along with two children, ages 1 and 3, were also in the car and were unharmed.
