Thirteen detainees escape Track B

Thirteen university degree holders detainees have managed to escape from the notorious Track B prison into unknown destination.

According to informed sources the thirteen detainees had been arrested together and placed in detention and were able to implement the mass flight in mid of last September

It is worthy mentioning that the Track B detention is located in the west outskirt of the Eritrean capital Asmara near (German) neighborhood and it is believed that there are 2000 detainees in this prison. The prison's most buildings are underground in addition to metal containers, and supervised by Col. Berhane who is known by exercising extreme brutality and torture against detainees. He is supported by two others; Yoseif Berhane and Fikre -their military ranks not available- who are among the most fierce investigator and who practice the torture operations by themselves.

The sources added that the detention contains a large number of jail cells in which the prisoners are shackling in the form of number (8) or in the form of helicopter for consecutive days until they are collapsed and make confessions even false in order to rid themselves of torture.
